Menopause is more about becoming who you are than just hormonal changes.
Menopause always seems to be referred to as "the Change of Life". It is suppose to be the point of time at which women go through marked glandular changes that denote the end of her menstrual cycle and reproductive years. We can all tell you the definition is not that simple. Pre-menopause is dealt with as early as our mid thirties and can last into our fifties. The closer we get to menopause the more symptoms most of us get to experience. I've learned from clients as well as personally that this time frame in life is much more than giving up a menstrual cycle, it is finding out and becoming who you really are. Everything changes in your life. Your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual woman rises to the surface.
You spent the first 20 years of your life being someone's child or student. The second 20 years you were building a career, becoming someone's wife/mate or parent. Now, you are entering the third 20 years of your life and this is becoming about you. Yes, You. This symbolizes the era of time when you actually give yourself permission to change. There is also more to it than just hormonal imbalances. This is when you start to birth other things in your life besides children. Take a walk in your neighborhood and check out the yards that are beautifully landscaped. I would bet 98% of those homes have someone over 40 living there.
It's the time for you to find your joy. What do you do for fun or when was the last time you actually had fun? Do you still keep old items and rooms intact from when everyone lived at home? What do you like to do that takes care of you personally?
Emotional stress, lack of exercise and poor diet exaggerate many of the symptoms and discomforts of Menopause. Some women become irritable, overly excitable, depressed, experience hot flashes, backaches, fatigue and insomnia.
We want to guide you in different areas of concern. Join us in our passion to help you experience this trimester of your life as part of an adventurous journey. Menopause is only a part of it.
