Communication Is A Must to Survive Midlife Growing Pains

I find at this time of life that Friendships and Family become so important. Communication has become the basis to survive all the midlife changes and growing pains. You have become Parents to your parents and elders to your adult children. You must communicate to make everything balance.

I encourage you to talk even about the tough subjects. I have a published article that may interest you on "How to Talk to Elder Parents". They are getting elderly as you are getting older. You think about downsizing your life style and yet your parents are still holding on to their original homestead and properties. You really have to communicate the importance of discussing real issues before your age or health gets in the way.

Subjects such as age, health, finances, moving and do they even have a Will? How about who is their health proxy or power of attorney should they become unable to express their own wishes. How about you...do you have any of these matters covered for yourself? Browse over some of the other pages on this site and start to get real!

How about your adult children. I know they go through many growth stages but I have found over the years that they still like to know I'm there and that I am very proud of them. Communicating how important they are even though they don't live nearby. My son is starting to ask me to move near him so he can keep tabs on me! I'm only in my early fifties. I also have a published article on this subject that may interest you. It's Communicating with Adult Children

I thoroughly enjoy rekindling old friendships and keeping track of new found friends from our travels. This means phone e-mail or snail mail contact as many now live in different countries. You can find cheap ways to get in touch as phone bills can sky rocket unbelievably. If you have internet you now have enough new technology choices like these to choose from:

Sometimes a phonecard comes in handy. I know many of you have seen me utilize mine and ask if it is difficult to do. The answer is no...it is simple. Here is a way to get that information with little or no former experience. I can use them anywhere from any phone. So much cheaper than those huge phone bills I use to pay when my husband was traveling overseas on business. I love new technology!!
